Originally prototyped in the late 80's by, farmer and engineer David Whitehead of New Plymouth, the Miracle Bar® has developed to be valuable and unique tool for Herringbone cow sheds and general vet races.
It all started after Whitehead was confronted with the problem of cows backing out during milking, in one of his newly finished herringbone sheds. Whitehead told his customer he’d put together a prototype and be back the next morning to give it a try. Upon arrival the farmer said, “it will be a bloody miracle if that works!” Later that week the customer called Whitehead Engineering to compliment Dave on his invention and let him know how well it worked.
Hence it became known as the “Miracle Bar®.”
As the word begun to spread Whitehead thought he better protect his invention so applied for a Patent which was finally granted in 1992.
Over the years Whitehead continued to refine and develop the Miracle Bar into the sturdy and user-friendly tool it is today. Miracle Bars are now used by thousands of farmers every day, and are the perfect substitute for chains, ropes and other one off contraptions.
